One of Dhawan's most memorable performances came in the 2015 World Cup, held in Australia and New Zealand. He scored 412 runs in the tournament, including two centuries and a fifty, and was instrumental in India's journey to the semi-finals.

In 2017, Dhawan played a crucial role in India's successful campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy, scoring 338 runs in the tournament at an average of 67.60. He was the leading run-scorer in the tournament and was named the Player of the Tournament.

Apart from his success in international cricket, Shikhar Dhawan has also been a prolific performer in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played for several franchises in the tournament, including Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and currently for Delhi Capitals. Dhawan has scored over 5000 runs in the IPL, including two centuries and 44 fifties, making him one of the most consistent performers in the tournament's history.
